Fillon claims victory during strikes

Francois Fillon decided to celebrate today, stating that the new minimum service requirements in transportation have permitted thousands of French to get to work despite a new round of strikes that have left only half the normal trains operating across the country. However, considering Sarkozy maintained strong support during the crippling strikes over the special retirement regimes many months ago, it is not clear whether this new convenience will make much of a difference in the polls.
