Above all, the issue of purchasing power continues as always to loom, with 68% predicting their personal purchasing power to lessen by 2012. Of course that is four long years away, and if a week is an eternity in politics, four years is at least several lifetimes. Meanwhile, a new CSA poll for Le Parisien/Aujourd'hui en France finds Sarkozy's approval falling from 40% to 38%, and Fillon's negatives crossing the sacred 50% mark to 51% (+7).
